    Although the BG is quite busy, I don't seem to mind it too much. The thicker branch running behind the subject is a bit more distracting, but I like the fact we see it connected to the main perch...I'm still wondering if you would have had time to move right a bit to clear it from behind the bird?

    I like all the "Y"s in the branch - one above the bird, one at its feet, and one below. The comp is a bit too centered IMO, perhaps recropping to place the bird higher and left in the frame would strenghten the image some.

    Yes, with small in the frame subjects it is vital to place the bird in a corner of the frame. Lower left would be best here.
