    Default American Avocet

D3 200f2+TC17EII (340mm) 1/5000 at f/6.3 ISO 800 nearing sunset, 0EV probably a stop underexposed (still learning matrix) Lifted with custom raw curve (picture control), added canvas in front, curves for detail & tone, nr on background, light sharpening.

The most wing of a sequence starting directly at me (9 sharp focus shots from head on to headed away)... this one the last of the front (just) shots.

    Thanks for looking, commenting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Love the sharpness, details, the full wing spread, the tail span and the hint of cloud in the background. Very nice BIF image, well done.

Nice work Michael! Exposure as corrected is well controlled. Like the color rendition and placement in the frame. The hint of wispy clouds adds interest. You might consider lightening the upper under-wing a bit. Good show!

Beautiful avocet, nicely captured. Like the full wing spread, color, comp. Exposure looks good as corrected - nice PP work.

Hi Michael, Good job on this! Nice wingspread and exposure giving you detail throughout. Lighting is warm and I also like the hint of clouds in the BG. For my taste don't feel you need quite so much room for the bird to fly into...

    Hi Michael
Great wing spread. It looks relaxed. color and detail looks good. I agree w D Mills would probably crop a little from the left.

Thanks all for the comments... I agree with the crop still learning that part. This forum (all the contributions in photos & critique) is great help in learning what to shoot for, look for in an image. Many thanks to all.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
