    Default I'm back!

Been away for most of the last month on a three-city tour (Chicago, NY, LA) with the Discovery Channel show for ad buyers. I demonstrated 3D projection in support of their rollout next year of the first 24/7 3D channel.

But enough of that - here's a glance back at the early days of the Internet. :D

This was taken at Bodie, a ghost town in the Bodie Hills, east of the Sierra Nevada range in California. I copied the background layer and did a b&w conversion on it, which I blended in using "fill" to leave only a trace of color. On top of that I added a texture layer to give it the look of an old scratched up photo. Topped it off with a vignette layer.

    :)

Okay, I swear I'm not THAT old but my first job was working one of these bad boys! Thanks for the memories, Kerry!

Wonderful processing! Gosh, I reallly would believe you dug this up in your great grandfather's treasure box. Amazing!

Thanks ladies! Jules, what an incredible coincidence. :) This looks to me like a five-line system. I love the crank lying there, like someone just stepped out for coffee... ;)

Hi Kerry, Superb old feel and processing. Really looks like an old photo. Took my a moment to figure out what this was. Obviously it's from before my time! :D

Artie, it is indeed an old telephone switchboard. I believe it to be a Kellogg 150 line "high cabinet" type. Only 56 lines are installed and it has five cord circuits. I was just joking about the Internet...

Very nice effect, Kerry. Is this still in Bodie? I somehow missed it last time when I passed by that place. I guess I was not looking for it :D

Indranil, I haven't been there in three years, but it should be there! It is in the Wheaton and Hollis Hotel.

Thanks Kerry. That's what I figured. I can remember party lines from my earliest childhood years....
