Welcome to BPN and very nice first post! Good-looking specimen, nice BG and good angle. I wish the sun would have been behind you for more even lighting and the head were angled a bit toward you. I might crop a bit off the bottom. Keep them coming!

Welcome to BPN. I like the background color and the nice details. I might crop a bit tighter left, top and bottom.

Super background. Love the foreground too but a little less of it would be good. The lower belly whites look a little hot on my monitor but this may be an artifact of conversion. If the original is RAW, they are probably recoverable. As mentioned previously, the head angle is slightly away from you, where optimally a CCW rotation towards you would be optimal.

    Thanks

Both have the exact same problem. With the light from the right the head is in shadow.... What you needed was a slight head turn towards you so that the face would have been lit. Otherwise, both are quite well done.

BTW, welcome. Where was the image created?

Hi Arthur, thanks for the comments...

The image was created near Portalegre, Portugal.

Like Ricardo Lourenço (he was the first), I build an "hidrohide" or a "floating blind" and this shot was made in my second day of tests, the Sun in this shot was a bit high in the sky...
In that day I made some more shots that I will post were later, some of them have background issues, because I made the shots with a canon 100-400mm and the background isn't as soft as I wish...
I think I need to save some money to buy the canon 500mm f/4 to solve the background "problem"...

Thanks for the info. To us, your bird is a Common Sandpiper. Good luck getting that 500.
