    The birds are starting to show their summer plummage. A few more weeks and they should be heading north.
    I leveled out the photo and took out some of the small debris and humps, but I left some as I thought it added a bit more depth to photo.
    50D, 500mm +1.4, f/5.6, ISO400, EC +1 1/3.

    Angle, light and eye contact look very good. Do you have the entire reflection in the frame? I'm sure it would make it even better. If not, I might crop a bit off the bottom.

    Dave, love the water on the tip of the beak. Nice soft light. I would do a little smart sharpening on the feather to bring out more details. Maybe the NR soften it a bit?

    Here is a repost with a bit off the bottom and I also took a bit off the top.
    I had a bit more reflection than the original, but it was even more awkward than what I had shown. I just wanted enough for the virtual feet.
    I aso sharpened the repost a bit more. No NR on the original bird.

    Sharpening makes it stands out more. Good job. Cropping works too.

    The low angle works well Dave, and I like the detail and colours on the dunlin. The repost looks good.
