    If you're a lizard!!!

Created this image on the way home from a day in the everglades. Was riding in the covertible on the main road when I spotted this beauty. It was late in the morning, so the light was harsh but I liked the perch and pose on this one!!!

Very nice, David, light doesn't look too bad.
Besides the slight halo, I would blow the eye and get the purple chromatic aberration out.

    David,

Great image I love these guys and this is a fine image, position, sharpness and pose are all great.

Other than the halos already mentioned I would cop out that tiny branch off the bottom edge and crop a little off the left. I tend to like more traditional rect crops and less of the square type.

Yes Dave, it is a loggerhead shrike, sometimes known as the butcher bird for it's habit of shredding meal on thorns or fences before eating. You folks (pros) have such eagle eyes. I couldn't see the halos but reprocessed with less S/H and careful sharpening (assumed source of halos). So, hope that did the trick. As far as chromatic aberration; I'm going to have to rent out Fabs to do my color corrections as I really can't detect such subtlety. As always, thanks so much for the learnings!!!!

You did an excellent job with the harsh light. I especially love the perfect head angle and the way that you included the tips of the perch branches at the top.

    later and love, artie

Very nice. I can only see the CA if I blow up the eye real big or use the magnification window in digital color meter.
If I could figure out how to do a screen capture without moving the cursor I'd show it.
