I went to Gatorland w/ Artie. Thanks to Mike Godwin for his amazing photography program that allows photographers early and late access. I was able to get this Cattle Egret in breeding plumage/backlit.

Denise - Colors are delicious on this one! Background reminds me of a painting and I can see right through that bill. Love the hairdo as well. Very sweeeeeet.

    Denise:

Lovely as mentioned above, the backlighting is very striking.

I wonder what just a whisper of fill flash would have done to bring up the eye, add a trace of light to the front. Not enough to change the overall back lit feel, just add a hint of pop to the eye. I suspect you tried a version with flash.

    Cheers

    Randy

Thanks guys, I don't really use flash for birds but I do agree that it was a good option here.:)

Denise, the backlighting through the crest looks great. Comp works well with just enough space all round.

Hey Denise, It sounds like you are having lots of fun in Florida! I really like the backlight here, and the green BG adds to it. The only thing I might consider doing would be cropping a small slice off the right side.

Looking forward to more Florida images!!

Thank you all for the kind comments.
Michael, It was great seeing you at Gatorland too, hope to see you again soon.
Aidan, I considered a crop but since it was FF decided not to-but it could use a slice off the right, good eye. Thanks.:)
