This Tern has been creating some fuss in Sydney since it turned up a little over a week ago. It's a rare vagrant visitor to Sydney, and normally you'ld have to drive a couple thousand km's north to QLD, or even further to the WA coast to get a glimpse of one.

    Canon 400, 300F4 + 1.4tc, ISO200, F6.3, 1/1000
PP: 95% of ff, nr on bg, usm, tripod, taken about 1 hour before sunset.

Hi Mark - cool - wow a rarity for sydney for sure. These guys are difficult in anything but soft light - I saw them nesting on Michelmas Cay in the great barrier reef - got lots of shots but all harsh light (Only way to get there is via tourist boat)
Lots to like here - Nice detail in the blacks - God exposure - Catchlight in the eye and a complimentary BG.
    Techs look solid.
    Good show :)

Thanks Lance. It's only a short 10 hour drive away, you could leave first thing tomorrow morning and get here just in time to get the nice afternoon light! ;)

I am shooting DEBS tonight wont finish until 11 or 12PM so yeh guess I could still make it - would be pretty tired though ;)
I ll see if I can dig out one of mine to post - couldnt get a good BG - just so densley packed on the Cay and you are not allowed on the island - pretty much gotta shoot from standing in the water if its high tide.
