Yup, you got the crown :)
IQ, sh, detail are very good.
I think it is really worth trying to do
a massive cloning work to get rid of the BG
branches, including the one intersecting the
tail. I think it can be done.

I like the sharpness and detail. DOF covers the bird well. Agree that cleaning up some of the branches is worth a try.

Yes, you got it; pity for the busy BG. It seems to be quite a lot of work...but maybe you have the CS5 and you can do it in a matter of seconds :-).

Such a tough little bird to photograph. I appreciate that you've got his crown showing, but the background is just way too busy and takes away from your subject. Having said that, I have none that are any better than this!

Yes, too bad about the way busy BG. That's where they like to hang out!! Perhaps its not your cup of tea, but I've had some success luring them out into the open with juduscious use of audio. One thing I never got, so far, is the red crown showing!! Kudos for that!

I'd burn the lightest patch on the flanks and undertail coverts...and perhaps a touch of contrast (or levels adjustment on the darks) to darken the blacks which seem a bit too light.

Good for you to get the crown and pretty much a clear shot. Nice and sharp and good looking pose.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone!

Although I agree that the branches could probably be cleaned up, I like seeing a bird in its usual habitat, in this case, thick vegetation :).
