Default Backward glance - keeping an eye

This was taken last summer.. the goslings ventured out from under the protective feathers while the parent kept a close eye on it. I decided to convert this one BW as the surrounding was a bit busy. Applied a tiny bit of Topaz simplify followed by selective sharpening. Hope you like it...

Very nice take on the theme, Indranil. Love the little gosling and the parent keeping a close eye. I wish the parent's head was in focus though. I might also tone down the white spot near the tail on the parent.

Masking back in the color on the gosling might also make for an interesting image. Just a thought.

Indranil, I think this is adorable! I love Christopher's idea to mask back in some color for the gosling. I would probably sharpen the face and eye a bit more. Perfect image for the theme.

I like your choice of perspective and the loverly juxtaposition. The depth of field (none!) works perfectly.

I like your composition, Indranil, especially how the fragility of the little guy is balanced by mom's vigilance.

Indranil, I think b&w works really well here and I like the effect Topaz had on the grass and leaves. Beautiful composition.

Thanks all for the kind words. Appreciate it a lot.

Christopher, thanks for the suggestion and here is a repost... instead of a layer mask I used Topaz remask2...
