I thought I would try another of the images taked at Rhino Safari Camp, on the shores of Lake JKariba, in thr Matusadona National Park, Zimbabwe on 13th June 2009.
Nice fluffed up pose, excellent exposure. Wish the light angle had been a bit more over your right shoulder, but the head is very well illuminated, which is the most critical area. Interesting framing element provided by the perch. Might include a tiny sliver more at bottom to include a bit more of trunk.
As posted, the bird is very centered, and might consider moving it right in the frame a bit.
I like the bird a lot, especially the head plumage.
Very well exposed, great eye contact. Perch nicely frames the bird too.
Agree with Randy about moving the bird from the center.
Hey Ken, I spent many a time at lake kariba, unfortunately not with photography. I like the ruffled look, different from the norm, and nicely framed between the branches. I would maybe try and lighten the FE a tad.
