From a very cool but pleasent evening at Nickerson with some fellow NWPLIers. Very cool breeze off the water but many Oyster Catchers doing their thing. Saw a pair of Piping Plover as well , which is always a good sign.

This came out great, Joe. Love the pose and the light. Like the open clam shell in the lower left corner as well.

Thanks Grace. I was torn between taking the clam shell out or leaving it in. I think it adds to the image. Would be interested in the thoughts of others.

    Joe:

I'm with Grace, the clam shell adds to the composition. Without it it would just be another Oystercatcher in flight shot.

Joe, The lighting looks great. I love the extended wings and open mouth. I agree the clamshell adds to the image.

    JOe:

Keep the shell. The beach looks almost like it was raked below the bird, or perhaps a tire track, and the shell distracts our eye from that 'hand of man' looking element. Lovely colors, exposure.

Very nice pose showing a kind of aggressive behaviour. Was it really that?
