    Default Bald Eagle

    Mrk 3, ISO 400, 700mm, .67 ev, f/10, 1/400, tripod.

Adjustments: curves/levels, sharpened, ~50% crop, AV, spot metering. auto focus.

Shot just as the sun cleared the mountains behind me in YNP. I like this because the eyes of both birds are visible & because of the eagle's eye contact with me. Also, since magpies can be prey for eagles, it is unusual to see them in the same tree.

Hi Andrew, I think you already know my thoughts on this.:) However, there looks like a slight sharpening halo around the Eagle on the rhs?

I think you are right about the halo Steve. Thanks for pointing it out. Andrew

Very nice, Andrew. As you said, nice HA and eye contact with the birds. Either bird would make a good photo alone; having both makes it especially good. :) Wonder if a little more contrast might be good.

Hi Andrew You are right about the pair, never seen them together .. at least not relaxed !! Have seen eagles and magpies working road kills fairly close but attentive !!!

Nailed the exposure but not sure what you were spot metering one? Like it a lot !!!
