    Default Barred in Flight

This image was taken at the same place as the last post, Clay Island on Lake Apopka, Fl. We were in a clearing which made it difficult to getting flight shots. The owls would fly across the clearing, but of course without any warning:eek:. I wish they would read that memo about giving photographers a bit of heads up before flying by them;):). Taken with the D300 and Nikon 70-300VR, f/7.1, iso 800, 1/1250.

I had that problem getting decent shots in Osceola County and at Dinner Island. You did well here.

    Nancy:

Nice transillumination of the flight feathers. I like the inclusion of the habitat, and might even give a sliver more below if you have it.

Might be interesting to see what you could do with some subtle lightening of the shadows on the body and dark area of wing undersides.

    Cheers

    Randy
