Ahinga Trail, ENP, during our second Everglades workshop. This Anhinga was beating the fish for quite a while to brake the spine and be able to eat it. Of course, we took advantage of the moment to perpetuate the moment :)

This is a perfect example of the "busy" BG doesn't bother me at all. It's nature ... and my eye goes right to the beautiful head of the bird and the poor fish. Wonderful as usual Fabs.

I don't mind the busy background here either, but I'd rather the thicker branch directly behind the bird's neck weren't there. Having said this, I really like this image alot. I think the fish realizes it is doomed and has given up!

    Fabs,

My first hought besides great capture was FANTASTIC background !
I would rather have this type of BG than a plain blur or green one for sure.

    Sweet image.

Great action and bg is fine The only branch that bothers me a bit is the one running close to the head For these images it goes with the territory

Good detail in the feathers and pleasing reproduction !!!

I like this a lot. I've never seen one of these in person (or is that in bird?) are their eyes really dark like that? I'm tempted to lighten & brighten it a bit.

A very nice shot of the 'snake bird'. These birds are great to sit and watch fish. Like little loch ness monsters! I do like the background. Sometimes busy is good.

Great timing and I really love the pleasing composition and BG. The glossy skin of the fish adds a nice touch to picture too.
I can see the "broken" neck of the darter ready to push the fish down...

If I am not mistaken, that seems to be one of the Clarias spp. that the anhinga is eating. These are the so called "walking catfish" that were a huge scare awhile back...

Wonderful image, wonderful BKGR but for the two branches that Daniel did not like. I like my blacks just a bit darker (personaly preference).

    Later and love, artie
