Taken just before sunset on a Chincoteague beach last Thursday. Amazing how a basically plain-looking bird sometimes can be transformed when it raises its wings. Virtually full-frame (cropped just a tad off the right for comp.) C&C appreciated.

Hi Bill - lots to like here - pose, HA Eye contact - when I first looked at it I tought it might need some CCW rotation - but think its just that wave line in the BG playing tricks on the eyes. Any of the whites a tad hot??
    Like the low shooting angle.
    Nice!

Thanks Lance. I also thought about rotation, but the reflection of the foot in the water is vertical, so I think it's the angle of the wave line that's deceptive. I had the whites under control in TIFF, but didn't leave enough cushion so when I converted to jpeg and sharpened, I do think I pushed a few pixels over the edge. Thanks for commenting.

Hi Bill Just the white pixels and I'm sure can be worked in PS !!! Sometimes you can lower the temp of the whites in the red channel and they look better. Arash had some neat post regarding the temp !!!

The back of those birds with wings extended are spectacular, probably the largest transformation for shore birds !!!
