Default Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher - Rufous Back (2)

This is the same bird showing the front and with a different prey. It is not a big fella and averages 13 cm in length.

    Very nice and cool bird.
Good pose, perfect sharpnes, like the details of it's prey. You maybe cropp it a bit to bet rid of the bright leav in the lower left corner.
    Very good work!

Quite cool KF Phil. The Bg is just a bit distracting and I think that composition could be improved with a bit more room at the bottom. The amazing colors of the bird and the lizard in the bill are just fantastic. A touch of selective levels adjustment in the eye would be great. Very good job :)

Hi Phil, great bird, almost cartoon in looks. as for the bill, well...:)

Agree that a bit more room at the foot of the image wouldn't hurt, plus just tone down the whitish hotspot bottom left, but the BG I feel compliments the bird well, as the tones & hues are similar in colour.

Small crits noted but still a lovely image of this beauty. The catch also a nice bonus.

Thanks for your comments. I have re-cropped this image 4:3 instead of 16:9 to get rid of the white patch bottom left. Took away some at the top to balance the bottom.

    Phil,
All other nits noted, a great shot with excellent timing. I am envious that you have such beautiful birds to shoot. The lizzard in the beek takes it over the top for me.
