I like the soft light, look-back pose and setting. I might give it a bit more room.

Very nice light, but indeed some more room

Gorgeous light, lovely colours, I am a little uncertain about orientation, maybe it is the stance, but perhaps consider rotating a little anticlockwise??

    Jaime:

Love the sense of early morning light here, with face seeming just a bit brighter. Do agree, it is too tight for my tastes as well.

As presented for web I don't mind the size of the bird within the frame, but I agree with Jonathan that it looks like some CCW rotation may be in order. As a print, I'm sure more room would be better. I love the rusty colouration this guy has, and I like the one foot up.

Other than above, I also like the way the bird's neck and
pose follow the tilted grass stems. Horizontal crop might work here too
    if you have the space.
