Overcast. shows more of the female, and no distracting background. Some people are not fond of high-key. I am.
There are limited places to photograph at the rookery, and less than optimal light directions can't be compensated for by moving to the other side of the subjects. Overcast helps, but not completely, and this image was partly backlit.
The white bg and the white of the birds looks good as does the interaction between the 2 birds. The white bg is certainly a lot nicer than having distracting elements in the bg.
Agree with MY comments. Any tricks to getting a white bird to stand out from white background? Bet it would look even better as a large print. To me white or near white BG work best in prints.

Hi Bill Agree on trying the high key ! It is the best way to go Tough exposure, under the wing could use a tad more and you have pushed the birds as much as possible. I just sit back and enjoy these images !! About all you could do is accentuate the lores !!
Hi Bill, agree with others and feel you did a nice job on this. Glad your showing more of the bottom bird than in your last post. For my taste I would add a bit on the left and take a bit off the top...
