    Default Swallow Tailed Kite

Taken last Saturday morning. Four of them perched in a tree and not flying so perfect time for a close up.

    EOS 7d
    Canon 500 4.0L + 1.4x TC II
    f/5.6
    1/4000 in Av Mode
    - 1/3 Ev
    ISO 400

    Bird was 25.2 meters away

Left the image as taken. There are a few loose twigs I am tempted to clone out on the left. Not sure If I should try a big clone job and remove the branch in the background. I was just happy to get one of these on a decent perch in the light.

Michael nice HA and I love the outspread wing. I definitely think that you should consider cloning out the large OOF branch at the bottom as well as the 2 thin, stray branches as well. None of these should give you any trouble since they don't intersect that bird at all.

    Michael:

I would love to see one this close. Some them flying over the Everglades two weeks ago, but no shots taken.

Agree about cloning the sticks. For me however, the angle of the light is the biggest concern. The dark shadows on the tail and underwing do detract from the image.

    Nice head angle.

    Cheers

    Randy
