This little guy afforded me two shots perched on this reed and then he was gone.

BG is water was quote a dark overcast day - could have gone much higher on the ISO for increased shutter speed - knew he probably would not hang around for long - so grabbed a couple first then went to increase the ISO and he was gone. Still Sharp enough??

    Cropped and sharpened a tad.

    Comments welcome and Appreciated.

    Lance,

Greetings. Looks plenty sharp to me (for 1/200 @ 700mm, darn sharp!)... With this kind of background, you could try a Selective Color adjustment in PS... I tried adjusting the Cyans with increased black (absolute method) to pop the subject a bit in luminance from the background (subtle).

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Hi Lance, image looks sharp to me. Soft, even lighting with nice coloration in the bird. This image would also look good as a vertical...

Amazing image when you consider it's braced on a car window and at only 1/200! Darned nice image if shot from a tripod at a higher shutter speed. I'm with Dave, I think it would make a kick-butt vertical.

Beautiful pose typical of this species. Love the uncluttered blue bg, which is so hard to get with these birds.

I like the soft blue BG as is. Compliments perfectly the pastels of the BOAS.
