Default Think Tank Airport Ultralight v2.5

    Anyone with this new bag?

    - It is relatively cheap at $169
    - Complies with airline carry on
    - weighs between 1.1-1.6kg

I'm planning to stuff this with a 500/4L IS + a other nick knacks.

I nearly bought this a couple of weeks ago. I really liked it, its lite and easy to use like any of the thinktanks. I picked the Airport Takeoff (another new one) because it can act as a backpack, but has wheels too. Its really nice.

    Spendy however.

Think Tank does make excellent stuff. And if you are a Nikon person and order Think Tank products from the Nikonians web site, Think Tank may throw in a free goodie that they make.

This looks really nice! I have the version before it...looks like they added that front pocket. This is a great bag, my main travel bag for my 500 as it fits in the overhead of small jets and is super light and easy for me to manage.

    Pao,
Thanks for the info. I'm constantly looking for a lighter version of my lowepro phototrekker AW backpack in which I carry a 500 mm f/4, 70-200 f/4, a 1d body, 1dII, 28-135 and other accessories. The lowepro specs:

    phototrekker AW II: inside = 12" W x 5.9" D x 19.1" H, 3.8 Kg

    think tank ultralight 2.5: inside = 10.5" W x 6.25" D x 16.5" H, 1.1-1.6 Kg.

    (" = inches)

So the ultralight is 1.5 inches less wide, and 2.6 inches shorter, but 0.35 inches deeper.

I think that would be a problem for me. So then I looked at the thinktank acceleration 2.0:

    acceleration 2.0: inside = 12.375 W x 6.75" D x 17.75, 1.5-3.1 Kg. ($279)

The acceleration 2.0 looks closer to the lowepro but lighter. It says it meets all international carry-on size limits. This looks better for my stuff and a little lighter. Does anyone use it with a 500 f/4? I wish the ultralight was a little larger.

I have a lot of Think Tank gear, however this may be my favorite bag that goes with me in my truck along with a T/T modular system. I originally bought it because you could stuff a 500 in it. Again, a great little bag.

No doubt, great backpack! Space for 500mm lens and laptop too.

For comparison, here is the lowepro phototrekker AW. In the bag is a 500 mm f/4 with a 1D Mark II attached. Above the 500 is a 70-200 f/4 and space for a second body. Below the 500 are 1.4 and 2x TCs, space for another small lens and at lower right is a 20 mmf/2.8 and below it extension tubes. PLus there is ample space to pack other things like batteries, compact flash cards and filters. And the size is carry-on legal (I've taken this setup many places around the world. But the pack is too heavy and I would like one that is much lighter but still carries all this gear.
