The hummers are in full force now with Rufous, Allen's and Anna's all along Central California. The Anna's are here year round, and are by far the most common. I have yet to get any good images of the Allen's or Rufous hummers, but I just saw a bright male Rufous at my feeders this morning.
I believe this is a juvi male Anna's Hummingbird, but there is a possibility that it is an adult female. It is feeding from a native Red-Flowering Currant (Ribes Sanguineum) that I provided :)

lovely shot Aidan! I like the flowing shape of the flower and the hummer is nice and sharp with enough wing movement to give me a sense of those buzzing wings.
Very nice image. I like how the flower stem leads the eye to the feeding hummer. Well done. It is still to cold in south central MT for hummers. The only neotropical migrants that are back are mourning doves, male robins & western meadowlarks. More coming soon.

I love that this hummer is facing us...different than all the profiles we usually see. Awesome comp, but I feel the balance would be perfect if you crop about 40% off the space below the bird (you'd have a near perfect "mirrored" placement between the three leaves in ULC and your subject in LRC). Very well done Aidan!!
Aidan, Beautiful pose and flower! I like the composition and agree w/ Daniel regarding a little off the bottom. BG colors are very nice. Well done indeed.:)
Thanks, Aidan. It's pretty much all multi-flash down here for hummers because of the low light but I sure do enjoy natural light when the opportunity presents itself.
