Lovely portrait of a common bird. Great detail and good DOF. Shame that the shadow has such a defined edge.
If you have a bit more space on the top, it will benefit the composition IMO.
Thanks for being part of the project!

Nice background and head angle, agree with fabs about the shadow.

It looks like there is some kind of softness issue with the post processing, it looks like a large crop or? When you downsize try Bicubic sharper.

Fabs, thank you for the composition suggestion. Robert, this is not a large crop. I will try your suggestion next time. Thank you guys for the comments.

Love the Gull close-ups. Might have swapped a stop of aperture for shutter to get fine detail, given no clutter in the BG to deal with. Lorant, thanks for sharing.

I think it's a Ring-billed Gull (1st cycle plumage), rather than a Herring. Head looks a bit rounded and bill a bit short for a Herring. Still pretty common, including in the Caribbean. Like the details on the beak.

Richard. I think you are right. I checked with my "House Ornithologist" :-) Manuel Grosselet and he backed you up.

Thank you for the correction and thanks everyone for the comments.

Nice portrait, although it does look soft to me too. I thought large crop, but it ain't. Nice idea, I'd remove the speck of light on the bill tip. Well done! :)
