Default Prehistoric - Since Time Began

This image was taken at Hawaii Volcanoes NP. It is of Kilauea Iki crater, with Kilauea volcano plume in the background. I took looking back for this image to mean … the finding of an old image of the crater, as it might have been photographed by someone who did not take care of the image after processing, but wanted to preserve the vision captured.

Modifications in CS4 included; Topaz Clean, Topaz Detail, B&W w/sepia toning, add overlay created from old image, Saturation and Brightness/Contrast adjustments.

This will be coming back in the next few weeks in a more recognizable color version, but liked the effect for this week and so it's time for you to ...

    Enjoy!

Mark, First of all great interpretation of the theme. I like the color tones and the prehistric look. IMO the branch in the corner draws my eye, but I do see it as being included in an older style photo. The shadow on the left edge is the bomb. Perfect aging!!

Beautiful aged look, Mark. I could definitely imagine this as an old photo. :) Nice landscape and color tones. I see a bunch of orange specks in the sky that I would get rid off. Well done.

Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

As noted, the image will be back soon for Landscape week. I did the landscape a few weeks ago and thought the image was fitting for this theme as well, so modified it as such. The other image will be more what you would see today, versus this prehistoric view. ;)

Christopher, appreciate the comment, but the orange color is part of the overlay, which I took from an image I restored for my wife, of her grandfather that was taken about 100 years ago. So I feel the aging would include that feature. But I appreciate your comment and views. I know this is your specialty and normally would not question it.
