    Taken from my car, the gull was on the seawall at the beach and allowed a close approach. D300s Sigma 150-500 on a beanbag. Small crop in PS and some selective adjustments
    150-500mm @ 300mm
    450mm (in 35mm film)
    1/4000 sec, f/8
    Mode: Av
    Metering: Multi-segment
    Exp comp: -2/3
    ISO: 400

    I like the head angle and sharpness and wish the light were less harsh. I might run NR on the BG.

    Nice eye contact and light. This would also look nice as a vertical. I also see some noise in the background.

    Sure like the looks of that eye, would have preferred to have the bird more sideways, only one eye visible and more impact !!! Solid exposure and all sharp, just need softer light !!
