I'm pretty certain I've never seen a flight shot of a Sora Jim! You've got to be very good to make the most of extremely rare opportunities such as this one, and you've definitely done that here. Congrats!

Very impressive, James. I would love to know what the story is behind this shot; how you pulled this off. I can only lift my hat here. Well done.

Jim, We heard of a sighting at the Meadowlands but never actually got to see it let alone photograph it. Getting one in flight is spectacular, esp. w/ such nice detail! Congrats to you- well done:)

This was taken during the winter as I was shooting ducks in flight as an avid flight photographer I am always on subjects that are flying regardless what they are. Just so happens I saw this little bird flying at the time and it got my attention it was just reaction and I pumped the shutter hoping for focus lock and was fortunate to get it. The area I was shooting was in the upper Newport Back Bay , Newport Bch. Calif. it is known for Clapper Rails and Sora. I've seen numerous Clapper Rails but not that many Sora.:)

    Thanks Again For Comments.

James, not knowing the species, it sounds like you have nailed a beauty. Good flying posture, and is separated from the blue BG very well. Congrats.

I don't even have a static image of the bird, let alone a flight shot. Good one. ;)
