    Boat-Tailed Crackle, I just like the colors that come out in sunlight close-up. Just sharpened with a little exp comp.

    Canon 40D
    Sigma 120-400mm
    F8, 1/250, 400mm
    iso-800

    The plumage in the bird and colors are exceptional. If you have a bit more room for the bill to "breathe" it may look better, maybe not.

    I like the details in the feathers and the white BG looks great. I think it might be a bit tight in the front also. Nice exposure.

    Thanks for the nice comments. I did have a problem deciding how to crop and frame, and where to place the head. I can always expand the canvas on the right some. The picture was taken just because I was surprised at the colors appearing on a "black" bird.
