The light in the NZ rainforest is a challenge for the photographer.
Just dug out an image from last year which was extremely murky so thought what to do.
Here is result using Topaz Clean 2 & "Stylize details"

Ian, I like the effect you applied with the Topaz. It looks really neat on the Ferns. I might tone down a few ,not all of the white spots. Well done:)

Nice choice of image for the Topaz Clean filter. I actually like the bright spots nd think they add something they add a bit.

I saw the white spots and thought they were feathers...I've got to quit looking at so many bird images!!!

Love the details on the ferns and the deep green colors...beautiful!

    Thanks Harold,Denise, Nick & Jules
Yes Harold tree ferns are very fussy about habitat, I live on the east cost of NZ South Island where it almost impossible to grow the largest Cyatheas while over on the West Coast at Punakaiki they, and Nikau Palms grow to about 50 feet high. Here is url of a Wellington tree fern.: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianrmc/4491194008/sizes/o/
Denise: Thanks for comments and advice. I'm not into dodging and burning yet. Not sure if available in Elements, so tried other options. Here is reduced brightness.
Thanks too to Nick & Jules. Comments appreciated.
    Cheers: Ian Mc

Ian, the filters work really well with the tree ferns. Nicely executed:)
