This Barred Owlet, its sibling, and parent were in the oaks near their nest. Technicals are not so great, but I like the curious youngster's pose and the oak flowers framing the head. Cropped for composition. Really needed a tripod, 400 or 500mm lens, and flash fill on this one. Lake Lotus Park, Altamonte Springs, FL.

Hi David - A little fill flash might have helped here.
As presented the owl is to dark - could try lightening him a little and lightening the eye might also help - he is just getting a bit lost up there.
Do like the pose - but the steep angle is working against you here.

Hi David....I agree completely with Lance. You need to simplify...perhaps cropping out much of the bottom of the image would help...it doesn't contribute anything to the subject. Looking forward to your next post!
Hi David, you caught a great moment here and agree it needs some FF and a lot tighter framing around the subject. That would have created an entirely different look to the image and accentuated the subject...
