I was excited about not only seeing but photographing my first blue bird. Canon 7D with 500 MM lens and 1.4X extender, Gitzo G2228 tripod, Wimberley head. ISO 1000, f5/6 1/1250 sec

Hi David Sweet bird and bg !! I like the room giving up front, might take a little from the top, bird is reacting to a threat so its fine with me, just wish the threat was your way ! Tough getting the sensor to lock in the eye area with that pose but managed a reasonable sharp eye.

Did well with the tech setting raising your ISO, just wish you could have gone for more dof, maybe sacrifice some speed? PS wise can run a softening brush over the bg to make it look totally creamy, and might attack the noise just a bit more. Sweet and a keeper in my book !!!

Congrats, as true bluebird of happiness! Lovely BG colour and action. Maybe a bit of NR on the BG to smooth it out a bit? I like the diagonal across the frame.
