Went to Nickerson this am with a group of people. From NJ there was Al Brown, Nick Palmieri, Phil Echo, and Klaus Dieter Schleim and the LI contingent consisted of Joe Sanzatimore, Lou Buonomo, Bob Akrow, and a few others...quite the group!!!.......all hoping for a great day.....fog quickly rolled in after sunrise ending the days festivities early. Oh well.....as always nice seeing everyone! Got a few interesting fog images....even a chase....but I went to work on this one from last week.
Canon 1D Mark lll with the Sigma 300-800mm lens at 800mm for 1/2500 sec at f6.3 and ISO 800. Cleaned up top of head in LRC to not crop more!

Beautiful light under the wings and nice action. Like the waves in the background as well.

Nice light, I like having a bit of environment and not the perfect blur.

Nice seeing you Roman. Fine image here. Love the full wing spread. Lou Buonomo wasn't there. that was Lou Figuroa , the NWPLI Tresurer. Too bad about the fog , but the first hour was sweet.
