I was really happy when I captured this image of a Great Egret at Merritt Island. It was just starting to sprinkle a bit of rain which allowed for some nice whites and bg saturation.

1D MK 11 N / 500 / 1/1250th @ f5.6 iso400 / hand held / manual exposure / 1 point center focus /

This is a very pleasing image. I like the contrast between the bird and the background. Very nicely exposed whites and crisp focus on the wing tips as well.

Well done David, very nice pose and DOF effect, the fact that we nearly can see through its wing feathers make the picture even more interesting.
I'd like to photograph these birds, but they are extremely suspicious and shy here in Bulgaria.
