Ned, First off big welcome to OOTB. This is just the place to get some feedback on your images and a chance to give some feedback to others. I really like the Fractalius work here. The contrast between the BG and the bird really looks great. I might be tempted to take a small sliver from the right side to get your subject a bit more out of the center. Nice work and I'm glad you left the grasses in.

Lovely first pose and I agree with Denise that cropping from the right would strengthen the image.
I would also echo her comments regarding the benefits of giving as well as getting feedback - it's a great way to learn :)

Welcome, Ned! It's great to have another artist down here in the group! I love what you did with the snowy. I would also take some off the right side. Next time, try getting the entire bird in the frame and go for a long, vertical pano crop...this would look incredible with thise long legs included in the image!
