    Hi Chris,
Nice image. I like the stare. The ISO 6400 looks good. Your experimentations with spotlight seems to be successful. I remember a previous posting with only spot light. Any incamera noise reduction or during post processing?

Now camera technology has reached a stage, where people can use it like they used to use a gun along with spotlight. :)

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

stunning framing and lighting Chris - also curious to know if you use another programme for noise reduction, or regular Photoshop NR? and how much? the noise I picked up @ ISO 4000 on the D3s I used for my last trip was pretty much negligible...

The D3s is known for its low noise at 6400 ISO, and this image shows its capability to the hilt. The use of spotlight is perfect, and I like the tongue showing as a rim below the nose.

Beautifully done, I must say I am impressed with the ISO capabilities shown here (in the web version).

This is a perfect example of what the higher ISO's are for, this shot with a flash would have been nowhere near as good.

    Chris,

Excellent technique. Well seen and taken.

I have employed similar during night drives in Kwai. We run the diffused light off a separate marine battery so that we can turn off the vehicle and not drain the truck battery.

    Best,

    Chas

Great image. The spotlight is wonderful. I like the intense look on the cat's face.
Awesome quality for ISO 6400. I wish my 7D could do this :(
