Its rare that you can't find one of these lovely birds to photograph, no matter what the season. They will come to feed right out of your hand at some of the local parks. Some years in winter Nuthatches and Chickadees are the only thing we have to photograph.
A local feeder station had run out of seeds, this guy followed us for 45 minutes begging for a handout.
I tried to recover the white on head, only have laptop for now (main computer crash, still not working well, lololol..a work in progress)...hope colors ok
Nice placement of this downward-heading nuthatch, Paul. The head and mantle seem a little soft, and the catchlight looks a little bullseye-funky IMO. Colors look OK to me. Bark BG is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Paul - I like the repost much better. The catchlight looks more natural. When you get your main computer up and rolling again with better monitor, you could play with the whites and try to optimize.
