Default Color shift during recovery in Lightroom

    Hi Folks,
I was wondering if anyone out there has noticed as I have that when I use the restore slider in Lightroom I get strange color shifts. What I mean is things that are colored red become orange and pure yellow objects take on a kind of peachy tone. I know it sounds weird but I was just thinking that there must be a way to counteract this color shift by the equivalent percentage of restore used so you could be sure to get your original colors true each time after recovering your whites.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Steve

How many points do you use? It sometimes happen with a value bigger than 10. In this case, you could use curves and in PS maybe Viveza to prevent this.

I don't use Lightroom but I assume this is the same as the Recovery Slider in ACR. Like Axel, I try to never go above 10 with this slider because of the color shifts that you have seen.
If 10 does not quite do what I want, I often do further recovery of the whites by using the Adjustment Brush in ACR (also available in Lightroom 2.0) to selectively reduce the exposure
in the areas that I want to recover. Of course, the degree of success depends on the degree of detail available in the RAW file but it can be very effective where the data is there to allow it.
