The doves & pigeons normally take a backseat to the kingfishers & other waterfoul. They do however offer excellent photo opportunities....and they are fast! Taken from the Mankwe hide in the Pilanesberg National Park.

Hi Gerrie, I like the pose you captured. The raised wings with subtle head turn displays the bird very well. The slightly blurred wing tips provides a sense of motion which I find pleasing. I like the habitat; especially the inclusion of the green vegatation. The images appears well exposed and is sharp. If this were mine I would eliminate the long stock of grass that extents into the image. I would also remove or tone the bright two bright sticks in the background (upper left hand corner and upper middle). I would also remove the single blade of grass in the lower left hand corner. These suggestions are expressions of my personal taste. Again just suggestions as I have enjoyed your image as presented.

    Thanks for sharing.

I like the takeoff pose and eye contact. The wing tips look a bit noisy on my monitor and I might blur the BG more.
