    Default Sally Lightfoot Crab

Another photo taken on Artie's Galapagos trip last July - Satiago Island. 20D, 300 f/4 + 1.4x, 1/125, f/11, ISO 400. These crabs are common on the islands and were one of my favorite photo subjects. They are so colorful they tend to look oversaturated. I applied no saturation to the red or yellow channels in Photoshop. I added a bit of blue saturation to bring out some of the blue on the underneath side of the shell. I cropped a bit off the top to give the image more of a horizontal feel. Comments welcome.

Great colors (hurts my eyes to look at it!) and a nice symmetrical composition. I might give it a slight CCW rotation to level it out within the crop you've chosen.

Wow, it looks like it was tatooed! So pretty. THe rotation idea seems like a good one. The rocks makes for a nice setting.

Great image here! The centered comp works well wth this subject since the overall circular shpe of the crab really draw attention.

Very well designed composition. The crab is beautiful.

Though not necessarily a problem here, you can desaturate reds and yellows if needed to bring out detail.
