I took approx. 500 images of this little one. I was so excited to photograph my first Snowy Plover that never once did I notice it had only one foot.
    I left the bands on.
The beach was covered w/ debris and shells. Some cloning of shells.

Sweet. I was thinking that the aluminum band that was likely on its far leg might have had something to do with its loosing the foot...

Thanks folks. I appreciate the comments.
Artie, Do you think it needs some sharpening? Because I was just looking at it and thought that it might.:)

It looks pretty sharp to me but my glasses are dirty. If you run a contrast mask on the face don't forget to lighten that layer :)

I just put on a brand new pair of reading glasses after cleaning them and this image looks sharp to me. And the old ones had a bunch of nasty scratches on one lens from crawling around after some bird on Midway. There's a whole new world out there now so thanks!

This is really lovely, there is some quality of the gentle colors that I like here very much.
I wish the bands were not there but not too distracting, the missing leg makes an interesting
story of it all... I also like the shells and BG. Very nice.

Thanks :) I can't wait until this August when I am going down to Santa Barbara for Snowy Plovers and Least Terns.

I love the soft light and breeding plumage. I have never seen one in breeding plumage. The eye is tack sharp. The missing foot is less noticeable here because the other leg in front. I don't mind the bands here because they tell a story.

Looking forward to more plovers in the future!!

    Well Done!!:D

Ilija, Thank you very much for your kind comments. It seems so cruel to dbl. band such a tiny leg. Makes me wonder about it's other foot.

Joe, Thank you so much for taking the time to look in and comment. Much appreciated.

Aidan, Lucky you! Going to Santa Barbara for Snowy Plovers and Least Terns sounds great. I chose this pose because of the foot;)
