    Default Purple Sandpiper

This is one from December when Artie, Denise, Michael and I met at Barnegat Light. This Purple Sandpiper was quite cooperative and I like that the faint purple on the back is visible.

Great shot if this beautiful wader. I like the water flowing below the bird and the great blue BG. Wonderful light.

Very beautifully composed with the rocks around and the colors of the water bring make the bird pop out nicely. Light is sweet and the low angle is great...did you get in to the water or it was close to the shore?

Love everything about this. Just wish for a bit more room , but that is very subjective.:)

Thanks, Lorant! I was sitting on a rock but got as low as possible.

I love the sharpness, detail, the light and the exposure.

I would've liked this gorgeous capture even more without the rocks to the right and the left of the bird, a bit more space around, and with a slightly lower angle. The big rocks on both sides crowd the scene for me.

I see no problem with shooting angle - looks excellent to me. I also feel the rocks add a lot to this lovely image. Just wish for more roo on the sides.

Axel, I remember this shot. If I remember correctly you moved over so I could share the rock. Great looking details, pose and exposure. One of my fav. from the day.:)

Thanks, I tried a wider crop and might play around some more. I didn't want the rocks to overpower the bird.

Yes, this was the friendly and cooperative bird that we photographed together.

Thanks, Sidharth! A lower angle was not really possible and we couldn't see the foot if the angle were lower.

This is pretty well perfect Axel. Any lower angle and your lens would be underwater! Loe the way the rock frames the subject, and the "oily" water over them. For me the subject is a little tight in the frame.

Nicely framed between the two rocks. Perfect angle, and I like the detail.
