I photographed this beauty at Gatorland last week with my Canon 5D MK II on tripod. ISO 200, f/5.0, 1/1250 sec, EF500 f/4.0L IS USM, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB. Full Frame, No Crop. Comments Welcome.

Ricard, very nice indeed! I love that the bird looks as if it has been spot-lit. Beautiful colours and details and the vignette (don't know if it is intentional?) really adds to the effect IMO. Really stylish!

    Hey Richard,

Like the picture, but would add canvass in all directions and tone down the vignette.

Lovely image. Way too heavy a hand on the vignette for my taste... and I'm noticing some banding in the vignette as well. With the effect the face and eye of the bird is shrouded in darkness, where those features should probably be emphasized. You could add additional canvas to allow the bird's head to fall outside of the vignetted area. Looks like good detail in the feathers and that it's a nice, sharp image to work with. A lot to like here.

Hi Richard, agree with above comments. All else aside I like the fact that you experimented with the image and came up with something out of the ordinary. I might get rid of the small group of leaves almost midway left.

I backed off the vignette and added a bit more room on the top. Thoughts?

Richard, I like the first one but love the second. A heavenly look to it. Maybe a little bit more room on the right.

Hi Richard - agree with the above comments - repost is more to my tastes.
    Good HA and eye contact.
