    Default Bandtail Pigeon (Common bird Project)

    Bandtails along with Stellars Jays and Juncos are the most common bird at my feeders in the spring,summer and fall. I still like to photograph them because they are beautiful.shot from a blind near my portable feeder.

    Canon 50D with 100-400 IS @ 170mm Manfrotto tripod and head
    ISO 400
    1/800th sec @ f5.6
    Manual Exposure due to shaded background in soft early morning light

    Good-looking specimen and eye contact. Could you have moved to your right for a better angle? I find the BG a bit dark and might lighten it.

    That's a pretty bird. I like the dark BG. I also like the color shading on the wing. Maybe a touch more sharpening on the head.
