    While I did take some closer crops of the head action, I kinda like the pano effect of the entire wing spread in this one.

    Nikon D300, 500 AFS VR, ISO 640, f 6.3, center weighted metering.

    Crop looks OK to me as presented, Jim.

    Great moment, not easy to capture, your timing was perfect, because even the eye is totally visible, and the splash is not overpowering.

    I like the pano effect also Jim !!!! The clearly visible eye does it for me also These birds really need good light to have a chance as you had here

    I have tried to go real tight on just the head but don't have one I like !!!

    I agree with the previous comments. A very nice image with great action. I find my eye being drawn to the very dark shadows in the background.

    Great action and wonderful head turn as mentioned. i like the pano effect. It really sets the flow of the image. I wouldn't mind a bit more canvas at either end. Not much, just a bit.
