I like the alert pose and peanut in the beak. Sharpness is excellent. The bird is underexposed; I would definitely bring up the blacks. There appears to be a fair amount of PS work at the bottom of the frame, in between the upper and lower mandible, and at the left end of the perch. Also the BG color seems a little unnatural on my monitor. I would also add a bit of canvas at the bottom.

Great critique by Doug, not much more to add, beautiful bird, just needs a little more work.

agree with doug and fabs. i might add that if it's not against your personal rules, i would evict the peanut from the mouth also.

All good points made. This is worth the effort to fix. It could be a great image.

Neat bird and sweet pose but the peanut and the seeming post-processing problems--did anyone mention the lower mandible??--are all negatives.
