Nice landing shot but a little dark on my monitor. Would like to see more detail in the wing areas. But overall a wonderful shot I really like the out stretched legs.

Nice landing pose, even if the feet are merging. You have great whites but the blacks could use some more opening, hard to do with the last light you had. Wish the tip of the wings didn't get lost in the background. Maybe pressing the shutter one milisecond later would have done the trick.
    Great detail in the head!

Judy & Fabs, thanks for the feedback !

I've done some changes based on your comments.
Reduced the contrast a bit which was blocking up the blacks a little more than needed.
Also used curves to selectively lighten the bg a bit, especially at the top giving a bit more definition to the wing tip.
Still far from ideal but definitely an improvement.

    Thanks again !

Very nice image. You've caught the peak of the action just before the feet touch the water. The revisions you made in the second post are an improvement. You might consider adding some canvas on the left so the bird has more room to fly into as it is touching down.

Really well done on the re-work, Mike. It helps to do a good job capturing the image out in the field (which you did)... The amount of space to the left is fine with me, I'd like a little more room at the bottom (pushing his eye closer to the top third line). Love the pose!

    Default Hi Mike

Love the shot, but I'd love it more if it had a tad more room underneath the bird, which would raise him up a bit and perhaps impart some more of a sense of speed and coming into the landing.

It's really pretty darn nice the way it is pal :)

Lovely image! The light is beautiful and the landing pose really makes this a work of art. Only nit would be, as mentioned, a little off the top and a little more below. Excellent job.

The repost does it for me Mike everything looks excellent! Very very cool pose. This bird was landing in the water right? Because in that case an anchorpoint isn't really necessary IMO. Anyways great shot

Nice action, pose and head angle and the light is great! I agree with other remarks made for improving this image.
