    Default Slow Shutter Flowers

These Blue Salvia were shot with my ancient Canon 20D and the kit lens at 56mm. I tilted the camera a bit and panned with the tall elongated clusters. About all I did in post processing was add some contrast if I remember. It was quite a while ago when I shot this. I have been traveling so much lately for work, I have not had time to create any new images.

Patti, Nice to see you posting again. I hope to be in TX soon. Not sure where exactly though.
Beautiful colors and blur. I like the diagonal tilt and the lighting.:)

Luscious! The colors, the angled lines, the saturation--all just right. :)

Very nicely done. Love the colors. Would prefer that that you angled the camera a bit more. Is 5 seconds correct? Seems more like .5 seconds..... I could not pan that slowly...

Thanks to all. Appreciate the kind comments. I loved the colors of the flowers in this park along the north side of Calgary - my favorite park to visit when I "have to" go to Calgary on business. :)

Thanks Artie. Yes, it was 5 seconds. I experimented with faster times, but found that if I panned more slowly (on a tripod), I got better results. I just mentally divided the area I wanted to cover into 5 sections and smoothly lowered the camera for the 5 seconds. I found when I tried to do it faster, it was jerky. Not sure if I could do this off tripod. It would be a lot more squiggly.

Wow; a 5 second pan blur; that's a new one on me.

That five seconds got you some gorgeous lighting, Patti! It really makes the colors feel almost irridescent.
