    Today in New England, the day was partly cloudy, temperature 37 and I was down on wet sand photographing the Dunlin oops Sanderling at 3rd Beach, Middletown RI
    D300s, Sigma lens, hand held, adjusted in PS
    150-500mm @ 500mm
    750mm (in 35mm film)
    1/2000 sec, f/7.1
    Mode: Manual
    Metering: Multi-segment
    ISO: 400
    AF mode: AF-C
    White balance: AUTO
    Flash: Off

    You folks are a hardy breed up there! Very nice action shot with soft lighting and good angle (your discomfort being well rewarded). I like the composition with the object in the lower left anchoring the image. I'd be inclined to clean up a few of the spots in the water: the one halfway between the tail and the wave, and the one 3/4 to the right, level with the head.
