These guys normally arrive at one of our local birding spots during winter. They give us endless practise to shoot BIF. A lower angle was not possible. Taken last year July. I extended the canvas on the right.

I like the wings-forward position and the sharpness. Whites are a little bright and I wish you the bird was flying towards you instead of away. The water droplets are a plus.

To add on what's been said, a lower angle would have helped, I think.

Lots to like here, no doubt!! Thanks for sharing.

Great dynamic pose with an awesome view of the wing! I don't think you needed a lower angle, but I agree I wish the duck had not just passed you. Some blotches above and in front of the head, plus some softness around the far wing's primaries suggest some elements have been cloned out?

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys. Here is my repost with a slightly darkened face.

Dan, I have had a look at the RAW file and those blotches above and infront of the head are in the original shot. Those areas are untouched, including the far primary. What I forgot to mention was I extended the canvas on the right. Thanks again for your expertise.

Thanks for the additional input Stuart. It may be worth seeing if you could minimize those blotches, but awesome image nonetheless.

Stu, the wing detail in this is superb. Can't understand why you are not 100% happy with the angle. Pin sharp with a great pose. Very well done!:)
