We have have been very fortunate to have a nest of 3 GH owlets in Columbus this year. I was able to catch the biggest owlet during one its active moments

These fuzzy young ones are always fun the observe! That looks like a huge old tree they've chosen to nest in. Great camouflage colours...notice the plumage's and tree's matching colours! I'd try to lighte the far eye (and the area around it), and crop a bit below. I'm OK with the whitewash as that is what their nests look like :-)
